What Is Full Spectrum CBD?
Full spectrum CBD oil is the oil that is initially extracted from the buds, leaves, and stalks of the cannabis hemp plant. This CBD oil extract contains all of the cannabinoids, terpenes, and flavonoids of the hemp plant.
Full Spectrum vs Broad Spectrum vs Isolate
There are different kinds of CBD oil, which can affect how your product hits. Full spectrum CBD (as mentioned above) is the oil that is initially extracted from the hemp plant, containing all of the plant’s cannabinoids, terpenes, and flavonoids. Broad spectrum CBD is the same oil, only with the detectable amounts of THC filtered out. This filtration also removes some of the other hemp compounds in the process. Still, both full spectrum and broad spectrum CBD are robust oils, bursting with healthful hemp compounds. CBD isolate is CBD with all other hemp compounds removed, making it 99% pure CBD.
With our full spectrum CBD + THC line of products, we add extra delta-9 THC to the full spectrum oil, taking it right up to the legal limit!
Why Full Spectrum Includes THC & Minor Cannabinoids
As noted above, full spectrum CBD is the robust oil that is initially extracted from the leaves, buds, and stalks of the hemp plant. These parts of the plant contain all of its valuable cannabinoids, terpenes, flavonoids, and healthy fatty acids. Those cannabinoids include the two major cannabinoids, CBD and THC, as well as over a hundred minor cannabinoids, including CBG, CBN, and CBC.
Legal THC Limits (0.3% Rule) & Compliance
The 2018 US Farm Bill made the growth, manufacturing, and sale of hemp products legal in the US, so long as the product contains less that 0.3% THC (as measured by dry weight). Though the THC content in some of our full spectrum products has been boosted for additional “chill,” all products are compliant with the 2018 US Farm Bill.
The Benefits & Effects of Full Spectrum CBD + THC
Entourage Effect Explained
The main benefit of full spectrum CBD is that it allows users to experience the Entourage Effect, a phenomenon that occurs when multiple cannabinoids and other cannabis compounds are consumed together. When this happens, the various compounds actually make each other work much harder than they would naturally work on their own in the body’s endocannabinoid system. In many of our full spectrum CBD products, we’ve boosted the amount of THC right up to the legal limit. That means a stronger Entourage Effect for you. Your CBD will work harder; and the other cannabinoids, terpenes, and flavonoids will, too!**
Support for Stress, Sleep, & Mood
Among the many benefits of full spectrum CBD are:
- Stress relief, thanks to the calming vibes of CBD and the uplifting feels of THC**
- Sleep support with calming CBD and relaxing THC, along with supporting sleep aids, like CBN and melatonin**
- General wellness, due to CBD’s beneficial effects on the body’s endocannabinoid system**
- Mood elevation, often manifesting as creativity and blissful calmness with THC**
Potential Risks & Who Should Use Cautiously
You should be aware that using products that contain hemp derived THC could result in the consumer failing a drug test for THC. In addition, THC may cause psychotropic effects, so please use responsibly. Do not drive or operate heavy machinery if you use these products. Do not use a full spectrum CBD product if you are pregnant, nursing, or are trying to conceive. Some medications react adversely to CBD and THC products, so please consult with your doctor if you are using medication and are planning to take one of these products.
How to Use Full Spectrum Products
Dosing Guidance: How Much Should You Take?
Each of our THC products has a suggested serving size on the label and on that product’s page on our website. If this is your first time using one of these products, we recommend taking half of the recommended serving to see how it affects you. If you experience the desired effects, then you have found your perfect THC dosage. If not, the next time you take one of these products, you can try a full serving. Just remember that edibles, in particular, can take up to two hours to kick in for some people. So, don’t get impatient and take a second dose before the first one has had a chance to kick in.
How Long Until You Feel the Effects?
With our THC vapes, you can expect to feel the effects in just a few minutes. With full spectrum CBD tinctures, most people feel the effects in 15 to 30 minutes. With THC gummies and THC capsules, it can take between 30 minutes and two hours for the effects to kick in, since the THC has to travel through your digestive system before being absorbed into the bloodstream. Remember, everyone’s bodies are different. So, your own experience may vary.
How Long Do the Effects Last?
For most people, the effects of a THC vape pen or THC vape juice last for one or two hours. THC oil tinctures generally last four to six hours. THC edibles last longer for most people: usually, six to eight hours.
Safety, Lab Testing & Quality Assurance
Organic Hemp, Extraction Methods & Purity
At CBDfx, the purity of our products and the safety of our customers are our primary concerns. With that in mind, all of our products are made with organic hemp, with oil extracted by means of clean CO2. In this way, you can be assured that your full spectrum CBD product contains no pesticides, heavy metals, solvent residues, or other contaminants.
Third-Party COA & Lab Reports
All of our products are backed by a Certificate of Analysis (COA), a detailed report provided by an independent, third-party laboratory. So, when you use a CBDfx full spectrum CBD product, you can be assured you’re getting the purest, most potent CBD product anywhere!
Side Effects, Drug Tests & Warnings
THC can cause temporary side effects for some people, including dry mouth, red eyes, increased heart rate, slower reaction time, motor control issues, memory loss, paranoia, and anxiety.
While we use legally compliant CBD oils in all of our products, you can build up THC in your system over time if you regularly use full spectrum products. This can produce a positive result on some drug tests.
Full Spectrum + THC vs Other CBD Products
Full Spectrum vs Broad Spectrum
The main benefit of using a full spectrum CBD product over broad spectrum is that it produces stronger effects, thanks to the tiny amount of THC in full spectrum products, as well as a more pronounced Entourage Effect. The downside is that you could be more likely to test positive for THC if you use full spectrum products instead of broad spectrum products.
Full Spectrum vs Isolate
CBD isolate products only contain CBD, with no additional cannabinoids, terpenes, or flavonoids. They do not produce the Entourage Effect. We find that isolate works best for products, like bath bombs and some vapes. But most people want a fuller experience with tinctures and edibles, which is why we use full spectrum and broad spectrum CBD for those products.
Products with Added THC vs CBD-only Products
With our Full Spectrum CBD + THC line of products, we add extra delta-9 THC to the mix to take them right up to the legal limit. These products can produce psychotropic effects, so please do not drive or operate heavy machinery after using our THC products. CBD-only products still can contain some THC, depending on what type of CBD is being used, but the effects are generally less pronounced.

FAQs About Full Spectrum CBD + THCs
For legal reasons, there are restrictions regarding which CBD products can be shipped to certain states. To see if your state is restricted, click here.
Full spectrum CBD refers to CBD oil as it exists at the time of extraction, meaning that it contains the full spectrum of chemical compounds from the buds, leaves, and stalks of the hemp plant.
Full spectrum CBD has a calming effect on the mind and body. When you boost the THC content, as in many of our full spectrum products, you can also take advantage of THC’s mood-lifting effects, as well.**
As noted above, we use legally compliant CBD oils in all of our products. Nevertheless, you can build up THC in your system over time if you regularly use full spectrum products. This can potentially produce a positive result on some drug tests.
Full spectrum CBD only contains trace amounts of THC, the cannabinoid that gets you high. Some of our full spectrum products contain additional THC content, though it is still less than the legal limit of 0.3%. That said, THC products may cause psychotropic effects, so we recommend that you adhere to the suggested dosage and avoid driving or operating heavy machinery when you take one of our full spectrum CBD products.
Yes, microdosing is an excellent way to take advantage of the calming wellness benefits of THC and full spectrum CBD, but without overdoing it. Just start small: ¼ the recommended serving size of your product in the morning every day. If you want to add to that, take another ¼ serving in the evening. If you feel like that’s still not working, you can bump up the morning serving to ½ serving, and so forth. The key to microdosing THC is to find the serving size that works best for your individual needs!
